“He doesn't mean to. It’s only bad when he drinks. He loves me”. - Tanya, single mum of 3y/o
These are some of the lies we tell ourselves when the one we love is hurting us – that it’s okay under special circumstances. It is never okay! Tanya is a single mother who overcame a traumatic time in her life thanks to the support services we provide. Tanya started using our services for parenting advice which then evolved into use of our playgroups and domestic violence support groups. Tanya's life and the life of her 3y/o have been transformed thanks to her relationships with our team and our service. Help us as we support those courageous enough to acknowledge that they need help, support and a little TLC.
Domestic violence is a powerful cycle that does not stop unless we make it. That is the lesson that young mum, Brenda is still learning. While her partner was incarcerated Brenda utilised our support services and tasted what life could feel like outside of that power struggle. Unfortunately, since her partners return, Brenda has returned to his house and is now facing the loss of her child and dealing with the daily struggle of a young woman in domestic violence.
Help us support Brenda and give her the strength to help stop DV in her life.
"Constantly being on high alert, living in fear, trying to predict what mood he is in, and being anxious about what might set him off. It’s exhausting and scary". - Jo, professional, mother of 4y/o
Nobody should have to face domestic violence at all, but those who do shouldn’t have to face it alone. Our services ensure that you don’t. With the help of our holistic services, Jo was able to get the help she needed to deal with her husband’s volatile outbursts stemming from his gambling addiction. She was also able to get parenting advice about her 4y/o son’s behavioural issues and overall development.
